for Current Students
Welcome to the St. Raphaela’s Secondary School website. We hope that it will give you an insight into our students, our ethos, our school and all it has to offer.
St. Raphaela’s is a Catholic secondary school under the patronage of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We have approximately 540 students who study a wide and varied curriculum and their academic achievement is valued and supported. The development of the whole person is central to our ethos. Students are encouraged to be the best they can be in all areas of their lives; sport, music and a myriad of extra-curricular activities are central to the life of the school. The management and staff ensure that this objective is achieved in an environment where students feel safe, fulfilled and happy. It is our belief that when students feel cared for, the quality of teaching and learning will be enhanced ensuring that students are stimulated, challenged and reach their potential in education.
Our school could not operate without our dedicated, earnest and talented staff, and you will undoubtedly see plenty of evidence of their work throughout this site. We are also fortunate to have a strong Student Council who are clear sighted and hard working in striving to make St. Raphaela’s a school where everyone’s talents are valued and where everyone has an opportunity to experience success.
If you have visited the school for Open Days or Information Evenings you will have met members of our Parents’ Association who are always happy to talk to visitors about their experiences of the school, and who are a great support, not just in the area of fundraising, but also in areas such as policy development and school planning. We hope you will take some time to browse our website; I am sure you will find many things which will interest, engage or entertain you! You can now follow us on Twitter and Facebook (see the contacts page). If you would like to visit our school in reality, please contact Beverley or Carole, our officer administrators, for an appointment. We would be delighted to show you around!
