CAO – Much of the girl’s Career Guidance time in Sixth Year is spent getting to grips with the CAO system, and ensuring that correct choices are made on the forms. The only source of accurate online information about the CAO is available on http://www.cao.ie

There is an interactive demo facility so that you can practice prior to your actual application.  All you need do is click on interactive demo facility and follow the directions.

CAO application packs will be available in September. To make sure you receive your copy call into the Careers Office.

Further Education Colleges

Sixth year students applying to the Further Education Colleges can pick up application forms for each of the colleges from the guidance office. Apply to these colleges ASAP, as an interview date will follow.

Notification of OPEN DAYS for the Further Education Colleges are posted on the Careers Notice Board so keep your eye on the notice board each day for new information. The college websites will also state when the open days are.

If attending any of these open days, a permission letter from your parents must be given to your year head at least two days in advance.

FAS Opportunities Exhibition

4th, 5th & 6th Year students attended this event.
FÁS Opportunities is Ireland’s largest careers, education and skills exhibition, which takes place in Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin.
Exhibition Dates: Friday 29th February to Monday 3rd March

The event brings together those individuals who are interested in a career, further education and skills building with many of Ireland’s leading employers, education institutions and training and development agencies. Seminars from the show are exclusively available online via PDF download. The following three expert topics are available to download: “Selling Yourself at Interview”,” Managing Your Time Creatively” and “Creating Compelling Career Goals”.

Study Skills Seminar – The Student Enrichment Services conducted the study skills seminar with 3rd, 5th and 6th year students. All students gave very positive feedback and found it to be very helpful.
